The Raspberry Pi Foundation
Making Computing Accessible to Everyone
1. The Creative Challenge
The Raspberry Pi Foundation needed to distil a complex, technical product into its very first explainer video.
The core challenge was to convey "incredible potential" without getting bogged down in intimidating technical jargon, ensuring the message resonated with everyone from schoolchildren to hobbyist developers.
2. The Strategic Solution
Tone & Personality: We developed a fun, light-hearted visual style to strip away the "intimidation factor" often associated with hardware.
Universal Design: To appeal to "all age ranges and demographics," we focused on clean, vibrant animations that felt modern yet approachable.
Human-Centric Storytelling: By casting Amy Mather for the narration, we added an authentic and relatable voice that bridged the gap between education and professional tech.
3. The Outcome
We delivered a versatile foundational asset that successfully introduced new users to the Raspberry Pi ecosystem. The final animation serves as both an educational tool and a brand-building piece, which maintains engagement across diverse global audiences.
"It was an absolute pleasure to work with Saladhouse. They developed Raspberry Pi’s first animated explainer, helping to introduce our small, affordable computer through clear storytelling and playful humour."
"The video struck the right tone for both children and adults, making the subject easy to understand without oversimplifying it.
The animations were well received and became a useful reference for how we can best introduce Raspberry Pi to a wider non-technical audience.
The team worked closely with us, quickly understood the brief, and delivered each stage of the project with care and consistency.

We continued to work with them on more videos that explored creative and educational uses of Raspberry Pi.
We’d recommend Saladhouse unreservedly to anyone looking for thoughtful, well-crafted animation."
